Some might call Verna's Grandmother a "precursor"...a good description! When it came to cursing, The Sgt. was always first to the worst! In the best traditions of the RCMP, Sgt. Wormgear always got her man! Although, sometimes she got him between the eyes after he had thrown down his weapon and had just given up. (Many arrests can ge "fixed" in the paperwork!)
Because The Sergeant, (no one ever called her "granny" and lived to tell about it) had such a huge influence on her grand daughter, Verna Wormgear, it is here that we must begin to tell the story of one of the world's most powerful, strangely attractive and, at times, really scary people.
